I bought a 2014 Toyota Tundra SR5 with 270k miles and it was a little on the inside and outside but the main problem is the transmission. It doesn't have any problems going forward but in reverse, it has a hesitation and kinda vibrates and I don't why it is doing that.

First two things: scan for trouble codes and perform a drain and fill to replace 4 quarts of transmission fluid. The drain and fill will serve a couple purposes - you can inspect the fluid coming out, refresh the additive pack going in, and verify that the level is correct.

There is a specific procedure for checking the level that appears complicated, but it’s really not. It’s honestly easier than changing the oil, so if you can change your own oil, you can drain and fill. Look up the procedure here on the site or on the interwebs.

If you aren’t comfortable doing that, it’s quite simple for most mechanics. Good luck.

Had a vehicle transmission with a broken reverse band once. Drove it for years and just parked where I could pull forward or roll backwards. Kinda fun to travel across the country not knowing when some piece might cause the whole thing to go, never failed, had a rebuild years later.
