I've been hearing a godawful squeaking / squealing sound that came on last Saturday. Noticed it on the interstate when driving next to a concrete barricade, then impossible to miss around town. Sounds like metal on metal, terrible noise. Pitch of the sound changes with speed, sometimes it disappears, sometimes it goes away when not accelerating, but always comes on after 10 - 15 minutes of driving.

    Things I've checked
    • Brake pads are fine, rotors are rusty but good / no groove
    • Dust shield not making contact with rotor
    • All greaseable points on driveshaft greased
    • WD40 sprayed to try and eliminate areas of noise
Nothing worked. Then I came across this video for Land Cruisers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MN8FQ0UC3Q

The sound in that video is exactly what I'm hearing. The first couple minutes you can hear it. The explanation of what the issue could be is at 3:50 in. Lack of grease on the seals.

Here's a video inside my truck with the noise: https://youtube.com/shorts/eOGz48IdjXU

Here's my truck underneath spinning the driveshaft: https://youtu.be/tK0aAhxiMR8

Parts I'm planning on buying are circled in red (besides 33309D since it comes with 33309C)

If anyone else has ran into the issue and could shed some light, that would be awesome. The sound is driving me up the damn wall and I'm half convinced my transfer case is going to explode.

Sounds like what I'd expect a failing rear output bearing would sound like. But I believe the rear output bearing is 36102D, just above what you've circled in red there.

I'm just saying what it sounds like to me, not necessarily what it is. It sounds like a bad bearing, or maybe a metal seal scraping against something.

I agree, but based on the first video linked they removed the front flange and bearing / seal. im going to drop the driveshaft again and spin some more shit to isolate further
