Tranny oil coolers and Tranny service

I have seen alot of discussion about Toyota no longer equiping Tundras with a transmission oil cooler. I have found this to be incorrect. My 2020 SR has a tranny cooler. It is located in front of the radiator/AC condenser, at the bottom, it has 2 black lines. It might be that some models do not have it but it seems that trucks that come with a tow package from the factory actually do have it. Also there is in fact a flush method (not drain and refill) for those who might want to do that although the service manager I spoke with suggested not doing it on vehicles with over 100k of the fluid has never been changed/flushed/dumped. Bob Howard Toyota in OKC does this type of flush. I was also told that the filter inside the pan is really not worth changing as it only catches large particles, which means you have bigger problems. Hope this helps someone.

 

Are you sure you not looking at the power steering cooler? I know you are but do you?
