I have an ‘08 Tundra Ltd. Had transmission serviced at 195,000 and now I’m noticing some chatter when I’m pulling out of my uphill driveway on the farm. It’s not a chatter you can hear but you can feel it as you start off cold and slow. Any ideas on a fix or should i just let it ride until it doesn’t.
    Otherwise a solid truck.

What fluid was used for the service? Drain and fill, or flush?

Don’t know what type. I’ve got a trusted transmission guy so I’m assuming he used correct fluid. For the price I’m guessing drain and fill. Are you suggesting I get a flush and fill with what fluid ? I’ll do whatever it takes not to have to replace a transmission. Been down that road twice with Ford and Chevy

Start with the simple stuff first. These transmissions are generally quite robust, but can picky about fluid. Chatter is often caused by using a universal or "compatible" fluid instead of genuine Toyota World Standard (WS) fluid. Drain and fill is the way to go, IMO. Perhaps press the shop for exactly what fluid was used. Either way, I would perform another drain and fill. With that many miles, if the transmission has never been serviced, it wouldn't hurt to do a couple drain and fills, which drains off 4 quarts or so.

Also, the fluid level check procedure is a little finicky despite it's simplicity. I would verify that the fluid level is correct.

All that I can do. Never much liked dealerships but in this case I may bight the bullet and use them.
Thanks a million for the advice.
