I’m hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. After hooking my trailer up and plugging it in I start my truck but the trailer settings on my dash aren’t high lighted but my dash is saying trailer discovered. If I drive around for a while eventually the trailer settings will become high lighted. Also after hooking my trailer up shouldn’t the check the lights become high lighted to? I don’t know if it only works on the 7 pin plug in and not on the flat 4? I haven’t found the answers in the manual. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm no expert, but have you tried setting up the trailer via the MID (Screen in middle of cluster)? I was looking through the settings and saw you can create a whole trailer profile.

I believe it (auto trailer connection detect & related features)will only work with the 7 pin. The 4 pin doesn’t have the connectors for relaying information like the 7 pin does.

I’ll take a look at the MID never thought of that also I’m wondering what if I plug my flat 4 into a pin adapter?

Likely nothing since there is no trailer brakes signal but honestly not sure…

Sir I setup a profile for my utility trailer which is only 4 pin. When backing up to it, it does recognize the trailer before hooking up I've noticed. One thing to mention I've only had the truck for a week and have hooked up probably 4/5 times and pretty sure it's recognized everytime but since it's only been a week the dealer probably flashed it with the latest updates also I set the profile from the first connection.
