2019 Tundra. Was driving it this morning and noticed a rough acceleration all of a sudden. Shortly after the engine light came on along with a couple others. Dash kept saying “Trailer brake error - see dealer” and “Pre-collision malfunction - see dealer”. The acceleration was rough but I could accelerate through it. Also noticed it not idling normal at a red light. Got to where I was going and called the dealership. They suggested I have it towed. Couple hours later I get back in it, no lights, started up and ran fine. Drove it to the dealership awaiting diagnostics on it. Anybody have a similar problem? Truck only has 58,000 miles on it and I’ve had it less than a year.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me for months, dealership had no idea, finally was diagnosed (NOT by the stealership) as a faulty throttle body extension harness issue. I would check that the plug is tight.

The harness was part of the super charger upgrade. But was told that it is known as a point of failure.

Weird. I just heard from the dealership. They said it threw an inactive code which detected a misfire in cylinder 1 but it didn’t misfire. Like what the hell? He said they see that code with bad gas, evac system, or bad gas cap. I told him that made zero sense to me. It didn’t explain the poor acceleration or the rough idle but he said when it throws that case it messes with the fuel system. That’s why when it set for a few hours and I started it it ran and drove fine.

I’m noticing a lot of people have similar issues these last few months. I have same issue as well. Was driving with a trailer and all those lights started flashing. I’ve found out most solutions is to replace the rear speed sensor and that solves the problem. I just received my part from sparks parts. I think around $205-210 or so for it. I got both just in case. Looks like an easy part to replace.

So just got another call from the dealership. Another service guy told me his technician found that one fuel injector was leaking as well as the harness. No explanation as to why. Hopefully the fix helps.
