i'm confused. Trade a Pro in for a SR5 because of the lift?

Well, I was new Toyota, I love the pro but realized I wanted a lift with bigger tires...I'm not going to desecrate the pro's suspension...so I'm exploring options. I just feel like I bought the wrong truck

Man, My vote would be use the money you would lose (possibly lose) and put suspension, wheels and tires on the pro. That thing is silly nice. Just keep all the old parts in memory of what she once was. Plus dont take the joy of stressing over what parts to buy for weeks and the joy of putting them on and building your truck!

Umm yea, no bueno. Keep the pro! You can clear 35's on it with a cab mount chop and wheels with +25 offset ,keep the pro suspension in place. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your input. I've looked into the cab mount cut. It is an option.

Not unless you’re getting a nice check cut payable to you with the deal. The SR5 is an SR5 at trade in... the lift and tires are worth nothing. The Pro is always a Pro, and they are much more desirable and in demand. As others have said, take the money the dealer is putting in to their pocket on the deal and buy yourself a nice suspension and wheels/tires. My guess is you’ll get a good buck for your TRD wheels and you’ll get a good buck for the stock suspension should you choose to part with it. But yeah, don’t trade it for the SR5.

typically dealers don't put on the best aftermarket suspension. You see a lot of spacer lifts. They want to spend the short money to make the most profit.

This forum is the place to get the answers that don't have ulterior motives, just ones best for you and your truck.

Though you can't do much about the cement, and you do own the slowest color...it's still an effin pro.

Spend one month reading and asking questions here...the end result will be much better than that SR5 and you will be much happier.

I agree with @Jmmtjoy . Keep the Pro then get the suspension you want.

Glad I chose to get on here for some opinions. I'm actually sitting at the dealer now. Their looking at my truck. I'll be leaving with it now. Hopefully it isn't to upset with me over this. It's just the pro is an SR5 with exhaust suspension, grill and a few other things

Most people who have a clue sell their vehicles privately. It's easier and you get way more for them. You even get your tax break on trade value if you buy another vehicle within X days. (Sell for more than dealer gives you = better tax difference)

Meet at the bank, sign a bill of sale, have it notarized right there, deposit cashiers check, take Uber to dealership. Done...takes 1 hour.

yep - get out of Dodge. Don’t let them talk you in to anything. Then go home and read all about the Pro, how awesome it is, how all is Limited owners are envious, and then chip away at the mods and keep it forever. Your Pro should last 20+ years and it’ll always be cool.

The balloon matches my enthusiasm for trading a Pro for a SR5...
As others have mentioned, it's not a smart swap numbers wise. You could easily part out some of the Pro stuff to help cover your next mods. I would graciously help you with offloading the color matched parts.

However, do what makes you the most happy.

you can change the suspension but you cannot change the color. If you really like cement then get the color you really like.

I think you are right, you “bought the wrong truck”. You thought you were immune to the mod bug being in a Pro. It effects us all my friend. Any dealer should jump at the chance to trade an SR5 for a pro. Go talk to a good sales guy and see if he can build you a cement one with the options that you actually want, not some overpriced crap the dealer tossed on to help it sell. The difference between pro and SR5 should easily cover the exact rims/tires/suspension you want.
