Tried several ways of getting it to turn off but nothing seems to work. Is there something else to check related to this? No other lights are on

Is it in 4wd? Maybe a wheel speed sensor has gone bad?

If it is a 4wd, will it engage? If a wheel
Speed sensor is bad, if typically won’t shift in to 4wd while running; you have to turn the truck off, move the selector switch, turn the key to on, let it shift, then start it. Same
To get it back to 2wd. But there are also usually more than just the traction control light illuminated.
