Just had Toytec ultimate adjustable coilovers installed for 2.5” lift up front. Now my truck rides super rough. Anyone else with this experience? Yes I have 20” rims, but the tire is a 295/55 so I mean there is a decent sidewall on there. Currently it rides way rougher than stock.

Tires are E load or standard load? What air pressure are you running? did you install yourself or have a shop do it?

Aftermarket suspensions, lifted coilovers generally have higher spring rates and stronger shocks to control larger tires and handle off road terrain. So they do firm up the ride. However, it is often installation of larger tires (which are usually E load) that hurt the ride most. E load tires are considerably stiffer than the stock standard load tires. They will ride firmer and if you are high on air pressure, they can get hard and jarring. Use this tool to get air pressure close to correct when moving to tires with a different load rating or size than stock

It looks like that setup come with 700lb rate coils, which isn't insane, but it's definitely firmer than stock and would give a considerable feel difference. No aftermarket coils will be as soft as stock usually.

Also, did they get the height set right? If they're setup taller than 2.5" or 3", that would feel firmer too.

Thank you guys for your responses. Yes they are E load tires, and a shop did the install. Not sure what discount tire set pressure at, probably need to check it. Coils came preset at 3”, but the shop lowered them to 2 1/4-2 1/2. Now I do need to get new uca and have them installed, they couldn’t quite get the alignment right. Either way the truck looks exactly how I wanted it to, so no regrets.

    TEXAS!

if this is on the pickup in your sig, a 2020, you should NOT require new uppers with a lift of 3" and less, to get a good alignment.

im in a 2019 and have a 3/1 readylift with stock uppers. see my alignment below. just had this done on 8/24.

    very happy w/ my #'s

Awesome post, thank you for sharing. I thought the same from research I’ve done on here. I may get a second opinion on the alignment before purchasing uca’s.

The uppers will make it easier to get better alignment. I slays did uppers when replacing front suspension as the front end was already apart, so minimal labor time for a shop opposed to taking it all back off, replacing with new uppers, re-installing.

I have the same kit as op and hate it. In fact I am waiting on my fox 2.5’s to come in since both front shocks were leaking at 15k.

Yeah that would have been way smarter way to do it. I wasn’t planning on uppers because the lift was so minimal. And I’ve spent so much already my wife is getting let’s just say impatient lol. Doesn’t help my case when she gets in the truck and it rides like an army tank .
