Just seeing if anyone knows any current deals on these. I'm set on them but think it be nice to get a better price than the msrp price of $200.

If you guys know any vendors giving out a "COVID" discount at this time, please share.

They aren’t worth it in my opinion. I’d go with Total Chaos 3/4 shackles. I think they’re something like $150. The Toytec shackles will rub bed bolts which is something easily fixed but they’ve yet to do so for whatever reason. I also prefer a non-solid shackle as I think they ride better than a solid shackle like the Toytec.

I’m saying this and I currently have the Toytec shackles installed. I really want to remove them.

Edit: Buy me TC shackles and I’ll send you my Toytecs?

They are the same price no matter who sells them. On Toytecs site, 10650 is the forum discount code. Its 5% but better than nothing at all.

did you replace the oem leaf bushings? If not, that’s why you’re probably not happy. They are meant to be used in conjunction wirh the poly bushings.
Solid shackles will outperform multipiece shackles any day.

Not to jack the thread, but what's your opinion on removing a 2 inch block and doing an AAL and shackles? Or would you just do the shackles alone. Thanks

AAL and shackles, or simply AAL, over a block all the time.

This is the first time I have heard of this. Can anyone else with Toytec confirm?>

I would think the spring bushings should be optional and not effect the operations of these shackles. @Toytec Lifts

this would been a great option but I am looking for a 1" shackle lift to go with my 1.9" setting 6112 for that little bit more rake.

Proformfab seems to only have 1.5"-2".

Some members do have rubbing (listed right under the description details on the site) on the bed bolts if set at the 1 inch setting with the Toytecs. The spring bushings are optional (when adding to cart) if you just want the shackles themselves.

    Thank you for that.

Does anyone have a picture of the grinded bolt? I really like to see how evasive this process is.

    thanks in advance

IS it that bolt on the top right? It looks like it can be hit by the shackle during articulation.

That looks to be a pain in the ass to grind. To fit a grinder in there.

Can that bolt be removed from top to be grinded and reinstalled?

It is a pain in the ass which makes it even more annoying Toytec doesn’t fix it during the manufacturing process.

Yes I replaced the bushings. Idk just everyone touts Toytec shackles as some miraculous cure for ride quality and they’re not. Install poly bushings and continue using the oem shackles...If you need a 1” lift in the rear use a 1” block, that way you’re not unnecessarily loading the leaf springs from the added length of a shackle lift. If you need over 1” use a different leaf pack.

I regret buying my shackles, they were a waste but were recommended by everyone in countless forum posts as if some sort of cult tradition.

This is good info. From the information out there, majority have said that shackles > blocks.

This new information about Toytec shackles hitting the bed bolts is quite disappointing. I would hope a company as big and established as toytec would have fixed this problem maybe with V2. But you are right, toytec continue to sell a product that has this known issue is pretty irresponsible. You guys might have changed my mind on these.

Does anyone know if the TC/Maxtrac/RC/CB shackles have this issue?

lol. The shackle hitting the bed bolt is literally a 2 minute fix and only happens with the shackle in the 1” lift position. It is not that big of a deal. It also does not hinder performance or integrity what so ever. It just makes a minor squeak. If you can’t spend 2 mins cutting 1/8” off a bolt then you probably shouldn’t be modifying any vehicle.

Shackles are better than (some) blocks but only for a very small percentage of people on the forum. Mostly everyone desires a 1” lift in the rear which blocks are perfect for. I’ve found that many users on the forum subscribe to the “use a 5 pound sledge hammer where a claw hammer could’ve been used” ideology. It’s unnecessary, costly, and can even become problematic.

An inch is very small. Why add 3 inches of length/preload to a leaf to get 1 inch of height when a block can give you 1” easily.

Bigger blocks become problematic; you experience axle wrapping issues. At that point a new leaf set is required.

Here come the Toytec apologists :D

When I did mine they didn’t have a warning on their website. I found out when it started squeaking, had to take it all apart and fix it. Definitely not a 2 min job in that case. The point is Toytec should fix it instead of letting their customers deal with it.

We have addressed that issue with the body bolt issue by slimming down the shackle itself. It doesn't take long IF it does rub to fix the issue. But then again, I understand why people want a full "bolt in" application overall.

I'm not understanding what you mean by "IF" it does rub?

Since all tundra suspension and body parts should be the same. When these are set to 1", can one assume it will definitely rub? Unless, not all the shackles are manufactured the same. @Toytec Lifts

Yes, I am hoping for a direct bolt on application. I feel there are so many other competitors out there that have this, why would I want to go through the trouble to cut a small bolt if I don't have to. Some people here are missing the point.
