Thanks a lot for your reply!

do you happen to know if the connector for it is on the driver or passenger side ?

Do you think it’s accessible without pulling out the dash?

I changed evaporator but have the one plug left shown in pic to connect and couldn’t find anywhere so am praying it’s for the transponder ecu module on back of hvac box and that I missed.

been trying to get struck to start for a week and couldn’t find issue.

Truck has no security light flashing at all so I think/hope it’s because the transponder ecu module wasn’t plugged in.

Took dash out 3 times already and couldn’t find anything not connected so with gods good will hopefully that plug isn’t connected and the truck will fire right up when I connect it.

gonna do it this afternoon and post here of it worked!

if you happen to know which side of hvac box it’s on Id really appreciate it so that maybe I don’t even have to remove dashboard again

    thanks a lot!

The Transponder ECU is on the back of the HVAC box near the fire wall in this cut out area (in red). Looks like to me the connector comes in from the passenger side and its up near the top of the box. Study yours carefull as this picture is kind of upside down from the way the box sits in the truck

Look at this pinout to see if your wire colors match. It most likely is the Transponder ECU plug from what I can see.

Yeah thanks a bunch for that info !

it’s exactly what the issue was, causing the crank no start & no security light flashing. after changing evaporator and putting dash back, didn’t see that connecter there for the transponder ecu and didn’t plug it in.

I was so happy hearing that damn motor stay on lol after a week of searching up and down, I was losing hope thinking I’ll have to tow it to Toyota and pay them however much to find that the transponder ecu wasn’t plugged in lol. After seeing the pic I was 95% sure it would fix the issue though

thanks a lot for the pics and confirming transponder location.
Zero change of seeing it without knowing it’s there and pulling out dash. Even with the dash out it’s still a tight but hole trying to plug in it in.

How hard was it to plug in with the dash installed? Were you able to reach up under there and get the connector on or did you have to take the dash apart again?

Yeah I had to take the dash out again completely and the crash-bar/dash frame
and even then had to pry the hvac box back from firewall to get a few inches clearance to fit hand back there and wiggle it on.
Was able to pop it in without taking hvac box out but definitely had to take dashboard and frame out again to get enough space to pop it in.
zero chance I could fit with the dash on

tried to upload the vid I took but the site doesn’t seem to allow vid upload
but this is pic of the connector back there
