Toyota tundra 2013 uo155

i get toyota tundra 2013 TRD warrior and i would like to change the cluster to the optitron one but i had some issues with this I try 2 different part no which i have the code uo155 Code U0155 indicates the instrument cluster with check engine light and 4Lo blinking

83800-0CF10-A

this cluster (83800-0CF10-A) i bought form tundra 2010 platinum vin : 5TFHW5F17AX152574
WHEN I CHECK THE connector OF THE CLUSTER I SEE THERE'S DIFFERENT BETWEEN MY car and the 2010 ON PIN 21,22

I had no issues with an Optiron in my 2010, That code means the cluster is not getting the data it expects from the computer. What vehicle were the clusters you used from?

This is what happened when I put the 2019 Sequoia cluster in my 2013 Sequoia.

Code U0155 indicates the instrument cluster is not receiving or transmitting messages on the CAN bus.

so i changed my 2013 to the optitron cluster but the MPG, distance to empty info doesn't display anything. i believe the cluster i put in came off of a 2008. would i be able to get the display to work by changing out some of the wiring? sorry for pigging backing on this thread. any help would be appreciated

The white and yellow wires, Pin 21,22, are the CAN High and Low pins to connect the cluster to the communication network. Toyota calls the cluster the combination meter.

Seems your truck doesn’t have them. If you look at the diagram they are *1, which means on trucks with seat position memory had this wiring. Notice the note in the top of the photo.

If you wanted you could probably tie into the other CAN H and CAN L and that would fix your problem. Run a wire out of Pin 21 and tie it to Pin 34, same for Pin 22 jump it into Pin 33. Basically run the other CAN connection to the cluster to location 21,22 also

Also I ran your VIN, is your truck flex fuel? If so your fuel gauge might be off with the new cluster.

@e30cabrio I assume yours has seat memory from the factory so all wiring was present when you did the swap.

 

Yes you can get it to work. Did yours truck have the info buttons and shoe MPG on the accessory meter by the clock from the factory?

yes it does have the buttons and it showed the MPG on the clock screen. *note it didn't have the info button when i bought it last year. i found some at my local junkyard and installed them and it displayed MPG info perfectly .

 

if your info button was working before its odd it’s not working now. Did you have to add the 2 wires to get the info button to work or did you already have all the necessary wires?

when I installed my optitron cluster my button stopped working bc I had to add the 2 wires and when removing the dash I guess I pulled the wires out some. Reseated the wires and all works fine now

 

It was plug and play. it worked fine without having to do anything.

 

Do you know which 2 wires you added? I assume to get the buttons functioning?

@Musicmasterd12 @e30cabrio did your trucks have the CANL and CANH lines in positions 21 white, 22 yellow. I have seen pictures of Eze915s wiring and he like the original poster is only missing the CANL CANH in pin 21,22. I wonder if the fuel consumption data for the optitron comes in on these lines. I know its a CAN signal.

 

where are those pins located? On the back of info button?

 

I have an IDATALINK Maestro RR2 that enables the steeringwheel switches, Escort radar detector & gauges/car functions like clearing CELs

I don't know, I will take a picture next time I take my dash apart.

 

on the cluster wiring, the connector that plugs into the cluster. Wondering if yours has pin 21,22 wiring

 

I think pin 22 is what we talked about running a wire from when I was trying to get the optitron cluster gauge to dim and if so I do not have a wire there. I don’t remember about pin 21 but don’t believe it had a wire there.

 

It should be these the black and yellow, you will either have both or none
