How many of you use the OEM color matched door edge protectors from Toyota?

I recall a thread about them with some good info and pics. Try a search in upper right

I ordered some for my cement double cab but never installed them and then when I finally got around to trying it, realized the Toyotas ordering site was mislabeled and it was actually crewmax instead of double cab. Unfortunately it was way past the return date.

I have them on my 21 CM AG and I like them. I’m sure they’ll fade over time, but that’s how it goes.

Mine came with them. The look good, better than the plastic sticker edge guard stuff.

My truck also came with the edge guards, they are painted stainless steel. I like them a lot.

    Too many, but not enough....
I have them on my 21 from the factory, colors perfect and they are tough, material is steel versus the plastic aftermarket stuff. Fits perfectly.

I dont think they are too expensive, but i heard the install is a bitch on the steel factory ones.

My door edge protectors on my 2012 are clear and they started cracking. Any idea on how to remove them without damaging the paint?

I had some details removed by a shop, they use a electric heat gun.

Didn’t damage the paint? Heat guns get pretty hot

Mine came with my truck when I bought it and mine had not faded. For what it’s worth it’s a 2018. It does help with door dings…..
I’ll take a photo later when I’m home.

What’s helped me most with door dings is making my truck wider, side steps, wide 35” tires, bumpers, basically minimizing the chance of a door ding

I have the Toyota OEM stainless steel color matched guards. Love them. My only suggestion is pay dealer to install.

The problem isn’t as much other people dinging me as it is my huge ass doors dinging someone else. Especially when the kids throw the back doors open. Major problem IMO. These edge guards might be just the ticket, depending on cost.

I believe they cost me around 110.00 from Toyota.

I have them on my 18 Tundra. They were a port installed option. They do help with door dings and have not faded a bit. I would recommend them.
