I recently got a 2025 SR5 Double Cab. The salesman was helping get the connect services, which still aren't working BTW. I asked where the 'Toyota' maps were and he said there isn't any. According to him the only maps you have is if you have iPhone or Android. I told him that didn't make sense. I traded in a 2023 Lexus RX350h on this truck. I told him I had both Lexus maps and Car play maps and I like the Lexus ones better. Can someone confirm if I should have Toyota maps in addition to whatever I get with whatever phone I have? Thanks.

I get the Toyota navigation when I pay for Drive Connect. When I let the Drive Connect subscription drop, Toyota navigation goes away.

It was free for the first year, along with some App functions, but I don't have them any more since I'm not paying the monthly subscription fee.

I like to use Google Maps with Satellite view or Waze,I didn't really care for the Toyota maps.

No internal maps for GPS. All external and free for a year and then a subscription. The GPS is useless after a year unless you use your Android or iPhone or pay the monthly subscription.

I already forgot about the free year. Sounds like the OPs salesman fell asleep during training.....

Thanks folks. All of this makes sense. Since the truck is new, I assumed I had a free trial of everything. I am happy using car play but I will look into the Remote Connect since I think that gives me remote start?

The key fob remote will continue to work but not the app remote after subscription or free trial is over. But honestly the remote start sucks on Toyota. After you remote start and touch the door handle, car turns off so you have to restart it

I have the no-frills SR5 Double Cab so it’s not on my fob. I haven’t tested it yet, didn’t know about the shut off issue. Thanks for the warning.

Maps are only available with subscription. My salesman misled me when I purchased. When they expired I called him out on his mistake. The dealer sent me a check for 1 year subscription for his error. Not ideal, but it was a gesture.
