Well what a crap week, missed most of it staying home with the sick kid, to have two lawsuits dumped in my lap the one day I go in.

After a week of consideration, I submitted my resume yesterday. Ironically my district manager, who would still be my boss with the promotion walked into my office to discuss the other things going on as I was submitting it. I suppose it was a good sign she made a few Freudian slips during our discussion about “when I get the job”.

I have an idea how stressed you were about that decision. I hope it works out well for you and you can save enough from the salary increase, to come out here to Oregon and visit!

I’d love to come out there (as long as I can avoid Portland).

I had a long conversation with one of the guys that helped me out when I started, who is now retired. I guess his “kid, you know more now than I learned my whole career, you’d be stupid not to go for it” kind of sealed it for me. He was my predecessor at my current park and we still hunt and fish together

Not sure why it looks like I have a oil slick on my neck, but @Outbound wtf, these things are stupid, stupid sweet!!!
My mullet and shirt collar kinda get tangled in the back neck wrap around, but holy moly, these things are strangely impressive for not being jammed in my ear holes!!!! Can’t wait to try them riding to work and at work! I have a feeling I might need “work” ones for hands free safety! 7CB6F6E4-1B8D-412E-B48D-6360A0A69125.jpg

Awesome, glad they work for you! If you haven't already, try putting ear plugs in while you use them. The sound gets awesome.

I don’t think Tennessee is the only state where they eat their dingle berries. I’m thinking about maybe West Virginia and Mississippi too

I got a pair of Iso Tunes I bought recently. They have a dB rating of 27dB. I use them to cut grass. They cancel out the noise and don't make me crank up music louder (causing hearing damage anyway). I've used them while detailing and have had someone come up behind me without me knowing. Can't be having that, so back to playing music on the speaker.
I may have to look into something like this for work and/or around the house

Haha ultra sneaky! Yeah it’s nice to be able to hear other shit while your listening to music. I was really surprised how clear the sound is. The concept seems stupid, hahah but it works. Again it’s not beats by Trey, but it sounds really good! They are very light weight and gentle all around. It’s super weird to be listening to music so crisply, and still hear birds chirping outside while working or standing hahah
I’m kinda super excited to change the oil on whips tomorrow early AF all by myself!

My beats pro have ambient noise filters so I can switch from noise canceling to that and it allows outside sounds in while listening. Problem is they are so f'ing uncomfortable I can only keep them in for like an hour.

One downside if I get the position, is I will be giving up the 2015 F-150 for a 2007 Ford Focus, though my boss promises that the Focus will be replaced. Since the agency is solely into fords, I’m hoping a Ranger, but I’ll probably get a maverick or escape hybrid

Are you using the vehicle for the daily commute or do you drive your own vehicle to the maintenance yard and switch for the day?

Drive and switch. Commute is going to add a extra 15 miles on the tundra per day. There will be much more road time if I get the new job, as I won’t be in charge of just one location, but 4 full time parks, and a few unmanned areas
