I meant to respond to this the other day. But I've also never heard of this nor believed you were referring to trout fishing in western NC. I have seen fish being electro magnetically shocked for studies. If you blow them out of the water what's left to eat or study? I can't imagine the bits and pieces being of any value if that's what you're getting at. Unless you're talking about fishing for humans that is?

I'm only 51. But I can hang with the youngen's on the snow, in a kayak or at work. So they always refer to me as the old guy. The 03 part is a homage to my mos in the marines. Infantry. You don't have to be dissapointed.

I have never done it myself, although I did quite a bit of blasting for fence work. The old timers that gave me the materials, told me about using a stick of dynamite to toss in a lake or pond and it would stun everything for a good distance around the blast. The fish would float up and then be gathered in a net

My oldest is 8, then 5, then 4, then 2, then 8 months. Sun goes down around 8:30 right now. We still get the kids up around 5:30AM to go to summer care (school our kids go to offers this) and day care. Bed time is about 7:30.
Our kids don't have tablets or phones and the TV typically doesn't come on until the weekends. Play outside and around the house until supper.
Every night we eat as a family at, or close to, 6PM. They all bathe around 6:30/6:45 (we have a tankless water heater and multiple showers/baths). Baths-books-prayers-bed.
Considering my wife and I both work almost the exact same schedule and our kids are routine driven and thrive off of it, it works for us. My oldest is going to be staying up later more since she's older, involved in more, and responsible to do a lot herself.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    lost art for sure

we gave our kids a consistent routine ( now 23 & 20) and they turned out awesome.

Kids these days are wrecked with chaos

    their minds are seldom settled.

a routine is absolutely necessary to grow a settled mind

now my kids are appreciative of the hard work we did, because they see the weak minds of kids that had a different upbringing

I can count on one hand the families that eat together every night

hi 5 to the good parents out there!
