Same here for me. FERS from USPS and now AZ state retirement from my current job, but since I started at the state so late in life I only expect it to be a few hundred a month. I'll consider it beer money.

If you mean about the wives mentioned, of course I want to know if they're hot and ask for pics, but I try to restrain myself when it comes to wives (especially crew) just to reduce my creepiness slightly. But I think it was @MARanger that mentioned it.

Not the most recent pic, but a fun one from a couple years ago when we went to a bar in N PHX to watch midget wrestling :D

I have an employee that got a full buy out from the Electric company when they de-regulated and received his full pension.

He puts his full state check into deferred comp. He’s 68 now and looking to get out at 70 with 15 years. He just wants the health benefits

That's one thing I get from the Feds is medical. I pay the same as current Federal employees as a retiree. But that all changes next year, I'll still get it but due to the Postal reform act of 2022 they are separating postal employees from normal OPM to some new federal postal benefit thingy. Of course no details or pricing has been released, but as with everything Gubment, I expect it to suck and cost more.

Curious how much admission is to one of these events? I’d imagine they fetch a good price tag

I think we paid about $30 for second row. First was less than $50 and tables/booths were a bit more.

One of the main reasons I'm still hanging at work is just not because I still enjoy it at 68 and make decent $, it's the insurance we have. Over the last 7 years, my insurance has paid close to $900K with a lot of co-pays that kind of wiped me out a bit, but why go on Medicare at this point plus still raising Manny? Besides, beer prices keep going up. Ha!

Yeah I kind of gathered that you had the five just by reading the thread. That is impressive for that timeframe though.

i've had people ask myself, but mostly my wife, if they're all from the same person. never 100% sure if i should laugh or be upset.
i married out of my league and was aware very early in our relationship. been together 21 years, married for almost 13 years at 37 and 38 years old. we both have our valid reasons for not letting the other person leave.

Being married to the right person is actually very fulfilling. Both my wife and I had previous marriages. I was always told relationships take so much work, and I've always believed you shouldn't have to work so hard if you're in the right relationship. Sounds like you chose well the first time.

unlike lots of people surrounding me (seemingly), i'm happy to go home to her and look forward to spending time with her (and the kids!).
also, i apparently have something she likes/wants if we manage to have kids so much and as easily as we do

This here is key... Yes, they take commitment and effort, but if you're beating your head into a wall everyday to make it work or doing everything in your power to avoid the other person... time for a change life is too short for that much drama
