    Hey all,

Hoping for some advice / lessons learned.

i’m towing my 20foot travel trailer which is about 3500lbs, and a dirt bike in the bed about 175lbs. From Washington to Arizona which is 1500miles or so each way. I won’t be over my payload at all.

I’ve towed the thing to Spokane and Back a few times (300mile one way) with no issues but this trip has be a bit on edge.

My trucks got 160k miles on it now, in the past kn hot days with the trailer it’s run a bit hot, just over half on the gauge.

Is there any advice on things I should have looked at before I go? I do most of my own maintenance. I’ll do an oil change, rotate the tires and look at the brakes before I go. I also did a drain and fill on the transmission about 20k miles ago, fluid looked new when I drained it.

When was the last time you checked the trailer bearings?

Bring tire chains too. Think the rule here in WA is you have to chain up with the big rigs when towing, even with 4wd.

Bearings were re-packed in the summer they should be fine.

good call on chains. Didn’t even think about that.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
I'd consider adding a few PSI to the truck tires. A few more in the rears.
