Trailer dry weight 4300 lbs. 2018 Tundra 5.7L.

Is it Ok to just use tow haul mode or should I shift down a gear as well?

Use TH all the time when towing/hauling. When coming down passes, I would put the shifter in S4 and start there to help with grade braking and keeping the electrical system charged (higher RPM, alternator output increases). Some mountain passes in CO I would be in S2 coming down passes just to maintain some level of control. My load was almost double yours though.

Do you have plans for a scan gauge or something to monitor parameters when towing?

I use an Edge CTS3 monitor for all my towing needs. Wouldn’t tow without one now. This could also let you know if the thermostat on the transmission should be pinned open in the summer.

My trailer weighed 4318lbs on the scale.

Towing in the mountains in S4 is perfect. It will hold almost any speed i want with ease and the trans will not heat up much in 4th

That’s about what our camper weighs. I always use T/H and also use the sport shift all the time for more control of the power band.

T/H and probably S4 or S5(or lower), whatever keeps the torque converter locked.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
Even in S4 some steep hills will bring the pam temps up to and over 230 degrees. If on the flats with no headwinds S5 works well but as soon as that TC unlocks drop it back to S4.

On faster stretches yes; I’ve gone down to S2 or S3 depending on conditions, towing heavy up a slope. Revs high=good, keeps fluids flowing and cooler and everything happy.
