    Hi Folks,

I have 36 ft trailer that I bumper tow behind my 2014 Tundra Limited 4x4. Its just under the tow rating but I'd like to beef up the suspension to stiffen up a bit during towing and to be able to adjust the ride when I'm not. I'm also thinking about putting in a 1"-2" lift. Wondering if anyone has experience with this and what bags/lift kits you might recommend. Also - I plow with it (7.5 ft MM2) and could use a little extra rigidity in the front.

    Thanks!

I can not help you with the front end but I also tow a bumper pull camper. I have Firestone ride air bags with daystar cradles. For me they are the best upgrade you can do for your Tundra. The springs on our trucks in my opinion squat way to easy, but with bags and a bed full of camp fire wood and camper I can ride close to level.

    Hope this helps.

Maybe think about some Dakar leaves. Would be a helluva lot better than OEM leaves.

I installed them myself I am a mechanic and have a lift also. The Firestone’s have good instructions and I believe you and your father-in-law will have no problems.
Figuring out where to mount your pump if you go that route will be your biggest issue. I made a bracket for mine to mount under the bed in the driest location I could find.

    It’s a 6 pack of beer install:rofl:

I tow a 10,000 pound camper all over the place in the summer with my tundra. It has a 2" level in the front and load lifter 5000s airbags in the rear. I chose load lifter 5000 because of the internal jounce bumpers just in case the bags failed. Set up works great for me towing or not 20190308_132742.jpg

I did the Firestone bags but wanted to monitor pressure to made sure I wasn't running flat. Added the Airlift wireless DUAL pump, thought long on placement. Decided on one of my swing cases, protected from the weather and easily removed if needed. I have a 31ft triple slide.

First thing I'm gonna do is go to a Smart Weigh by Escapees.

    https://www.escapees.com/education/smartweigh/

Only a few static stations but I think they have traveling scales at gatherings. You'd have to check.

But the bottom line is you want to make sure you have an absolutely balanced in spec load. It's tricky at Cat scales unless you can find a weigh master who will work with you. Some commercial scales are flat with space on side you can drive one wheel on and get the same results. You'll always be guessing unless you can weigh indivual wheels and get an accurate tongue weight. (there are ways to get tongue weight with home scale and levers...)

Love the swing cases, wanted storage without a giant tool box hanging over the sides so I installed two swing cases 20190320_145008.jpg 20190320_144937.jpg
