Never had a problem until I tinted the windows and added a camper shell which has tinted windows. Too many close calls changing lanes. Figures a good tow mirror is worth it, even if it is manual. Any suggestions that would fit my vehicle. Not crazy about convex mirrors.

Use the search. It’s covered extensively in here. There’s literally a thread on this exact topic on the 1st page of this sub forum.

With all due respect, tow mirrors are to see around a trailer that's wider than the truck. That's not your problem. You need a better view of what's around your truck -- that's exactly what convex mirrors are made for. Why are you not crazy about them?

    You’re in a 24 year old truck. They’ll move.

That’s definitely the down side to adding a canopy, and tinted windows is the icing on the cake when it comes to blind spots. Perhaps installing a high top mount rear facing camera? You could replace your rear view mirror with a video screen that’s on all the time when you’re driving.

I noticed that my factory installed passenger side mirror IS CONVEX (Objects in the Mirror Are Closer than They Appear). The driver's side is a flat mirror. Can I pull that off and add (if I can find it), a convex mirror like the original on the passenger side, but fitted for the driver's side? I think that might solve the problem?

Factory mirrors are keyed per side. You'd need to find an aftermarket solution. Lots of companies sell aftermarket glass. You'll need to know whether or not you have heated mirrors before ordering, if it's an option you intend to keep.

They are not heated. Any ideas for aftermarket mirrors that could be fabricated to fit the driver's side door?

There are none. There's a thread on this here at the forum about one potential option, but you basically have to drill up your doors, then slather your truck with sealant to fill the gaps, to avoid leaking water into the cab. Every example for tow mirror re-fit I've seen looks like crap, and ultimately lets water get into the truck. Again, there's a thread on this you can see for yourself.

As for mirror glass, I'm looking really quickly online and I'm not seeing any driver side mirrors that are convex, only passenger. There may be someone out there that makes convex driver side, I only spent 1-2 minutes looking.

Thanks for your help. I've given up on the tow mirror idea. Will try to find someone who can make a convex mirror to fit the driver's side. Have a great day!
