Tow Haul mode/ tow package

08 Tundra 5.7 4x4 base auto

1500 watt audio 2x10s Jbl, Rockford Fosgate Pioneer head unit

Hello to all I am new to this forum.. So thank you in advance for your patience
and knowledge
I have a base 08 Tundra 4x4 Crewmax 5.7 without the tow package and without the tow/haul button
I have since added the part on the drivers side of the AB60f transmission that sends Transmission fluid to an aftermarket transcooler mounted in front of condensor and a class III hitch.
When I removed the radio bezel, to install an aftermarket headunit I noticed a female
plug that seems it would plug into the tow/haul mode button.
My question is IF I were to buy the tow/haul button and replaced the plastic plug in the bezel
would it work? and would the transmission respond and go into "tow/haul" mode?
or is it more to it for the trans to respond?
Is the tow packed Tundras "programmed" differently
every dealer I have contacted cant give a definitive answer
