    Hi,

Sorry if this is posted somewhere and I didnt find it, but I am curious if anyone knows how to extend the front seat track on the driver side? I have a manual seat adjustment, seems like something I should be able to do easily, but assumptions are dangerous.

Would like to get another inch or two if possible on the track.

I don't know the answer for the Tundra, but there are all sorts of seat brackets / bases in race cars. If you have a manual seat, then you may have to go aftermarket seat and matching base. The Tundra is huge...how tall are you?

You can try extendmyseat.com I had them in my CR-V. If they do not list them, I believe they say they will try to make a set for you. In my CR-V, it moved the seat back 6”. Hope this helps.

They do not make one for the Tundra it seems from a 5 second search of the site.
I would not hold my breathe either waiting for them to.

I have had them too in a few vehicles and though they do indeed extend the seat to the rear I found they also sort of wobble when installed and are not as solid as the factory mount points directly too.

I have made my own extenders too a few times using Strut and Strut hardware to get the seat up and back and if the original mount points are in a relatively straight plane it should be pretty easy to fab up some for yourself.
You can also probably get a welder to make something for you if you go in with the design.

I will tell you that it is amazing every time I do this how huge even a very small difference in extension and angle can feel and I often put a lot more in than I ever end up using.

I also just can not figure out why they just dont make all trucks with a foot more room than anyone has ever needed?
How tough would it be to make it so there is enough room for anyone period?!

Thanks, yeah I'm with you, I don't quite understand it either. Seems simple enough, it's not like there is a tight space in the back seat. You can fit large bodies in the back so why not extend the track a bit more in the front as an option. That was the one down side of getting the manual seat. Usually I can monkey with the angles and height as you mentioned to squeeze out a bit more room. Geometry is a wonderful thing when you can manipulate it in multiple directions.

Thanks for the tip on the struts, I know a couple guys who can weld, I might have them do some side work if I cant find anything prefab'd.

I have actually found with several different Toyotas that the Manual seats by far give more room than the electric ones almost every time.
They dont adjust as many ways but the mechanism for the power seats always seems to limit the rear travel at the same time.

I realized this first in the 4runner and was blown away with the extra rear travel in the cheap seats.

So like I said if you look at the way the Tundra seats are mounted I think it would be simple to cut 2 pieces if Strut and bolt those bitches down to the factory mounts and then use Strut Nuts to ,ount the seats along the strut.

You can use the 3/4" or 1.5" Strut to get more height too so yours knees bend the way you prefer.

And that is with no welding at all I bet.

Hmmm I’ll have to look at that, seems simple enough. What kind of metal did you use?
