Tonneau Covers are not hard to install. A quote from our local Toyota dealer was about $1400 installed for my new 2024 1794Tundra with a 5.5' bed. When we bought the truck, the salesman actually recommended searching on Amazon, rather than paying the dealer for it. We bought a hard tri-fold flip-up bed cover for $750 from roughcountry.com. The only issue I had -- was it came with confusing instructions, with mediocre images, and extra parts. It came with instructions for a truck with installed bed rails, and for a truck with-out factory installed rails. It is also compatible with non-Toyota Trucks, hence the extra parts. It took two calls to Rough Country to get clarifications. (Instructions supplied were not specific to my truck). It turned out to be as simple to sliding 3 threaded parts in to each side rail, Dropping 3 brackets into each side of the Tonneau supports and tightening it down with 6 screws with supplied Allen wrenches. Then 2 bolts on the front, that was basically it. It did come with drain tubes, and I did need to take a drill to make the existing drain holes in the front corners of the bed slightly larger for the tubes to go through. While the box said 30 minutes to install, it took a good part of an afternoon trying to get it figured out, before calling the company. But I am happy with the design and fit. It folds and then flips up to give more access to the truck bed. It seems more waterproof then the dealer installed cover I got with my 2014 Tundra.

Great information, thanks. I’m looking at the Rough Country one for my ‘24 Tundra. The only thing that stands out to me is those big foam pads on the underside of the 3rd section (closest to the tailgate). Did you put those on? Do you feel they’re needed? Thinking about doing a bed slide so height will be at a premium.
