I'm looking to put these on a 2018 Limited (no lift), it's a highway hauler for my camper (5500lb). The local dealer Specialist showed me the areas of concern. He thought there should be no issue.
Original tires are Bridgestone...I hoping to go with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S 275/65R20, 34.1 diam. Have them on my '96 T-100 and they are great.

Used a couple of spacers (1 3/16 deep), taped them to the 275R55 tires at the points that might give issues. Put the steering through full right & left, checking in small increments, saw no issues with the plastic flaps.

Has anyone upgraded to this size tire?

Do not want to do a whole bunch of 'mama jama' bs to make them work.

Welcome. Any particular reason for moving up in size?

Nothing in particular. Thinking a little more ride comfort & mpg+ higher tire load capacity. My other alternative is 265/60R20, it has a higher load capacity than either of the others with only a small amount of tread loss and only 1.2" diam increase.

You won't be gaining any MPG with bigger tires, not how that works, especially when towing. Rubbing on 34" might be minimal, sadly the only way to know for sure is by mounting them, you have to consider even someone with the same tire size can have different results than you, wheel offset, alignment and other components will affect where and how bad an oversized tire rubs.

a tire 34 tall and 11 to 11.5 wide will work on stock wheels (+60 offset) and stock truck. For reference a 285/70-18 tire fits stock truck with stock wheels. Move to wheels with less offset and you may need some work like bumper spacer, remove front air flaps and mud flaps. Larger tires for a Tundra are usually E load, so heavier. Expect to loose about 1.5-2mpg running E load 34s. Ride will be firmer too. And check out the many lift and wheel tire threads, there are a ton of pics and info of setups and mods.

Anything 33 and under wont be a problem at all, if your wheels have enough offset to accommodate wider tires (to clear the Upper Control Arm) then your second option will be just fine

I just have an issue with all 'low' sidewall tires. (separate story) My '96 T100 had 31x10.5 15's, was kick ass.
When it needed new shoes I put on the 'manual equivalent' Michelin 235/65R15. Super soft ride, great traction, but
I am 5mph low at any speedo reading. WTF, I get it, should have gone with the original 31/10.5/15
Am not impressed with the factory 275/55 Bridgestone Alexas ,29,000 mi and I'm looking at replacement...seriously Toyota!!

I don't see the 275/60R20 having any clearance issues. My test rig allowed almost 34.5'' overall diam with no issues

You won't get ride comfort... you will get a higher load rating and better control when loaded or towing.

Michelins tend to be good for mpg, and my stock Bridgestones sucked in that department, but the high load rating is a negative for mpg.
