Why would a 285/70/18 rub only on one side, it rubs on a small corner of the frame in the wheel well. Just curious.

Every truck will have some variation in gaps, spaces and tolerances. It's a Toyota, not a Rolls-Royce.

Alignment, air pressure, level ground, would also come into play.

Once you vary from stock size and parts, all bets are off.

yeah you are not driving a f-1 car were .01 tolerance or smaller is required.

and a side note, until a f-1 car is warmed up, you technically couldnt turn the engine over since its pretty much frozen (seized)

That makes sense and answers my question. Thanks

Are you actually rubbing frame or just the mud flap? I did 295/70/18 and it rubbed the mud flap. The drivers side did seemed to rub more, maybe there is some difference in how the mud flaps are molded from driver to passenger side.

I removed the front flaps and pulled back the felt inner wheel well a little and there is lots of space at least an inch in the tightest spot and both sides seem the same. That said I did go with a different offset wheel and it’s the TRD OR suspension so maybe it’s different.
