Tire Rotation How To?

    I’m looking for a how to on Tundra tire rotations. I know I can go to a tire shop but they are always swamped during COVID and I don’t want to wait 4 hours. I understand the rear go straight to the front and the front get crossed and moved to the rear. What I want to know is the actual procedure.....where to place the jack, jack stands, etc. thanks!

    Your owners manual will show you proper jack placement... I just swap the front to the back and backs to fronts... I’m sure there are different opinions...

    Sure enough I didn’t even look in there! So it looks like just front to back no crossing. The rear jack point on the axle looks easy enough. The front is a little confusing to me....the frame isn’t really flat on the bottom.....so I just straddle that weld with the jack or put the jack on on side of the weld. I’m positive I’m overthinking this.

    I do the same side front to back. Jack up the rear and put it on jack stands. Move the jack and rear tire to the front and switch it out. Then front tire to the back and take it off the jack stand. Takes about 10 min per side. Loosen all the lug nuts before jacking it up.

    Noone includes their spare in the rotation, right? My manual says TEMPORARY ONLY....TAKE IT OFF ASAP...!!! LOTS OF THINGS WON'T WORK RIGHT.....etc. etc.
    (not toyotas exact words, but....)... I thought with most brands you do include the spare...but not with toyota trucks (???)

    I've always done front to back. Spare is never involved.

    Jack stand on the frame in front and under the rear axle. Never use the jack as a jack stand, it's just made to get the truck up.

    Don't use Harbor Freight jack stands, they've has several recalls over the last few years for failing under weight.

    I also meant to ask.....What's the actual difference between the fullsize spare and the stock wheels on the 2019. (i know there's no tpms...). I would like
    to put the current spare in the rotation (and use my one "not too reliable" tire as a spare)....but with all those warnings in the manual, it must
    be a bad idea (and i guess the dealership won't do it when i bring it in under toyotacare) ..???

    Fronts go straight back. Rears cross to the front. :thumbsup:

    The reality is that it doesn't matter as long as you are consistent. Also, a cross component is needed
