Tips on AC, remote start, chrome removal?

Loving my tundra so far. First toyota truck for me. Always some growing pains coming from another marque, but overall, very happy with the drive quality of the tundra.

A few questions if anyone could point me in the right direction in any of these would be appreciated!

Way to make AC colder thru calibration

Way to make remote start work from a larger distance (I'm only getting about 100' max) and not kill the engine when you open the door. It's been crazy hot here so having you AC run for a bit as you are approaching your truck makes it a bit more tolerable plus it lets the truck idle for a bit so you can get in and go except the engine dies when you open the door.

Chime and Calibration you can change with a Carista. Plus a shit ton of other things depending on your trim level. Give your location and anyone with a Carista near you will probably let you borrow it.

Remote start cant help with .....De-chrome go to a car detailer that does wraps

 

Disable the seatbelt chime with the Carista app .

 

You can adjust the A/C and turn off chimes with the Carista app and a Bluetooth adapter.

I’m not sure if it’s trim specific but I can start my truck remotely with my phone. I don’t believe there is a way to keep it running when you open the door (if someone knows a way I’m all ears though!)

Easiest way to dechrome would probably be to drop it off at a wrap shop and have them wrapped whatever color you want, but I think some guys buy replacement parts too.

Where to buy rhe carista obd2 connector who ships fast?

 

I bought the name brand one from ECS tuning and they shipped it pretty quickly, others have had success with the generic bluetooth adapters.

 

ECS for the US. If you are in Canada try and find a Canadian with one because the duty at the border will bend you over and give it to you

 

For the remote start, the only 2 ways to extend the range.

1. Pay Toyota $15/mo for remote connect + something else and use your phone to start the truck from any distance, assuming there is cell coverage.

Very easy way to dechrome window trim is gloss black electrical tape. I have done it before and it lasts for years. You can get different widths up to 4” wide on Amazon. I covered the vertical chrome trim on my back doors using a wide roll and sharp exacto knife to trim edges. Looks awesome. Handle covers can be purchased in matte or gloss black on Amazon. They adhere with 3m tape and never fall off. They make them for doors and tailgate handle. They also look awesome.
