I have a minty 2021 Tundra Crewmax with 5200 miles on it. Has a blown-out passenger-side tie rod end. It's hard to believe this, given the low mileage, but the boot is blown. I can wiggle the part, and it makes a clicking noise. You can hear and feel it when turning also. My girlfriend usually drives this, but has not fessed up to hitting anything.

The truck is on a remote island with no services. There is no alignment shop, no mechanics, no dealership, no part stores. The nearest alignment shop is 1300 miles away, and one-way barge shipping costs around $8,500. Out of the question.

I obtained a new factory tie rod end to replace the old one. Besides counting the number of turns it takes to twist off, does anyone have any tips for maintaining or correcting the alignment afterwards? Truck currently drives perfectly straight and is not out of alignment. Just needs a tie rod end.

    Thanks for the help

There are a couple of different ways to do this. 1. Mark where the tie rod end is on the stud. Unscrew it counting the number of turns. Install the new end by screwing it back on the same number of turns. If done correctly. The number of turns should line up with mark you placed on the shaft. You can also use the string method. There are several good Youtube videos on that. Hope this helps.
