I did mine with 5% and noticed a big difference in temp. Plus the security of someone looking in............ Just a little challenging taking a corner at night in the neighborhood, have to roll down the window to see.

Looks good. I went 15 on the side windows and it comes pretty close to matching the factory back. I'm happy with it. But that 5 looks nice.

Thank you! On the whole windshield?...that's interesting. I was wondering what to do about keeping the sun from coming through the windshield in the summer. How do you like it. Got any pics?

This is the only one of just the windshield. I like it. It's about like wearing sunglasses all the time. I don't have any issues at night, but I don't travel any dark, back roads or anything like that.

First, TX does not look or sound dumb. I've been there many times and it's in my top three favorite states. Great people.
Second, your friend is brilliant. Good for him!

Recent changes in Texas law regarding tint have prompted more scrutiny by law enforcement as stated above. We can put limo tint behind the front doors, but they are strict on the forward doors and windshield. The tint shops I've used refuse to go darker than allowed by Texas law; I wouldn't want it darker than that anyway. For me, if it's very dark, it makes it too hard for me to see at night. On my Tundra, I had XPEL tint 35 on front door windows and 88 on rear windows, sunroof and windshield. This ceramic really helped with heat rejection, IR protection and additional UV protection to the OEM "tint" or dye with no loss of clarity.

HaHa that is being creative there, never thought of that. Probably just looks like he is rolling around with his windows cracked in the front.

Mine is just under 30 and I have difficulty seeing at night when it's raining. I have to roll the windows down, which sucks. 5 % looks cool, but then I would have to stop driving at night. Perhaps you guys are young punks with better eyesight, haha.

Yes, in Texas you can tint the entire windshield, it just has to be almost clear (hence 88%). Behind the two front doors, it can be as dark as you want and a lot of folks do "limo". I thought that was too dark for me, so I had the same 88 put on the back (rear doors and rear window) as I had installed on the windshield and they turned out just a little darker than the OEM tint. By the way, if you have a sunroof the heat rejection property of the film helps there too!

limo is pretty dark when trying to parallel park at night or changing lanes...there is always that guy in your blind spot and with dark windows, it is sometimes difficult to catch them. Then again i live in L.A...lots of assholes on the road..lol... Just my 0.02.

TRD sway bar, matching mirror cover, 20% tint, esp aluminum box, Line-X premium, Undercover Flex tonneau cover, led interior lights, winjet smoked tail lights. Road armor rear bumper w/ road armor shackles, go rhino front bumper.
i noticed one of the ways to make the overall tint look darker is to put 50% on your windshield. The tint doesn't really affect the how it looks from the inside but from the outside it sure makes a difference.
