I replace the head gasket on my 5.7 L Toyota tundra. I am now putting the timing chains on and I have it all in time. My question is, on the driver side the tensioner pushes out but it will not stay locked which is leaving a lot of slack in my chain.
I know that all pressure will make them tighter when necessary but shouldn’t it stay tight when I push it on the guide to take the slack out attention it just goes back in. I’m just wondering did the tensioner stay locked when I push the slack out?
    Thanks for the help
