Can't seem to get a break. Sure, she's got 270K miles but literally everything is happening at once.

In the last month I've replaced a solenoid in the transmission, the clock spring, front and rear brakes, installed the SAIS hack due to air pump codes, and now this. The dreaded timing chain tensioner clack has appeared out of nowhere.

I have a shop at home, all the tools, and everything I need to do the job but man, I'm getting tired. This ain't no timing belt on a 4.7 and unless someone can clue me in on some shortcuts (which would be GREATLY appreciated) I'm looking at another big job.

It's paid for and it has everything I need so trading it in is NOT an option and around here, the same truck would cost about $13K to replace, mind you with a few less miles.

Just venting and looking for tips and support.

That sucks buddy I’m sorry. If it makes you feel any better I daily a 20 yr old Audi. It’s ALWAYS broken. No matter how much I fix I keep falling further behind on the repairs. I did the timing belt water pump job on it which requires removing the front end of the car. I spent 12 hours on it and then the new water pump started to leak. I just let it leak. Now the timing chain tensioners on BACK of the motor are bad.

    It has 70k miles.

Just know if you owned a Ford, you'd be an expert at replacing timing chains by now.

I'm literally about to lose my shit on this truck. Now the immobilizer is acting up and I have to disconnect the battery and reattach just to get it started. Any workaround for this stupid crap???

If it makes you feel any better, Ive thrown about 5k into my land cruiser in the past year in just repair parts. Vehicles age and unfortunately certain parts need replacing.
