    He everyone,

my 2010 5.7 has 209 000km on it. Timing chain noise from the driver side bank started to make noise approximately 5000km ago.

no check engine lights or codes.

Intermittently makes the noise on cold starts and low idle. Goes away if I rev the engine briefly or drive a bit.

I’m positive it’s the timing chain tensioners.

Just wondering if anyone has had an engine pile up because of this? And how serious it is.

    Cheers

The engine flush worked. It’s been -30 to -37c the past few days and the truck has not made the noise after cold stars. I also used liqui moly engine oil. Thanks so much for the advice.

May have to try this. Had the tensioner noise for the last 50k miles. It's annoying, but haven't seen any issues pop up.
