From my personal experience, all the marks don’t line up perfectly. But they also shouldn’t be far enough off to even be 1 tooth different. 15° sounds like an entire tooth off to me. Did you use the Aisin kit with the marks on the belt?

My opinion is that if you can take the kit back and return it, then buy a Aisin kit from Rock Auto with a Mitsuboshi belt that would be best. That kit has all OEM parts and should not give you much trouble, and should last the longest.

When installing the new belt, with the crankshaft at 0 degrees/ top dead center, both of the marks on the new belt should match the marks on the cam pulley, along with the mark on the crank pulley. I installed my new belt with the crank at 0 degrees.

The marks on your original belt that's been used will not line up. Once the engine is started, the belt marks will go out alignment because the belt is a bit longer and the tensioner is doing it's thing. This isn't the crank or cams out of alignment or anything. The marks on the cam and crank pulleys themselves should still line up perfectly.

My Aisin Kit was was great for me.
Ive never done a timing belt befor this but it turned out to be relatively simple IF your can organize and bag your parts well.
I set the CRANK to 0 before I pulled the pulley off, then rotated it a few times to see where all the marks line up (investigated). The Misuboshi Belt that i got has a mark for both top cams and one for the crank. But still use a paiunt marker and mark the Notches and the Marks for timing. I then rotated to the T, making sure that the crank and cams were all on TDC first(This was on an '05)
If you remove your belt on the T mark the cams DO NOT MOVE(On my '05). The Aisin belt (Mitsuboshi) goes right back on the same marks.

I did learn during this that the Crank has a mark on the BOTTOM as well that lines up with my T marks on top.
If you use a belt with no marks, Transfer the marks from the old belt (hopefully you paint marked em') to the new belt.

PS. the crank will spin twice before you can get the cam marks lined up 2:1.

PSS. The Belt takes 426(??) rotations or something like that for the belts marks to re align, so as long as the CAMS and the CRANK are in the right place, the belt really means nothing, once you reinstall the NEW belt you wont see the lines line up again.

Triple PSSS. Do the water pump to, after 5-6 hours of disassembly, its worth it to work another hour to fix the pump.

I followed Timmys video pretty exactly until the Belt part. Thats where i used the T instead.

This is the way! That's my experience as well with the T marks for timing maintenance on the cams and the mark just past TDC of the crank if I recall it looks like a little hash mark on the mold. I did my belt about a month ago.
