When replacing my timing belt i put the cam pulley marks on the ‘T’ but when i removed the old timing belt the cams ‘sprung’ cw by about 20 deg. How do i account for this when installing the new timing belt? Should i rotate the cams back ccw 20 degrees to realign the marks?

I dont think this is s double post if you read carefully. My first post was should I follow the Haynes manual re timing belt

2nd post was asking for help AFTER i followed the Haynes manual with its repercussions.
yes same topic (timing) but different questions.

Also, your profile says you drive a 2016 with a 5.7. Has no timing belt. Isn’t first gen. What engine are you working on???

Need to have both cams and crank at the appropriate timing marks. 20° is a small amount. If it were me, I would have the crank timed at the appropriate timing mark to correspond with the T for the cams, and rotate the cams back to the T to ensure appropriate timing. Might be easier said than done as the spring tension will fight you. Pics would help to see where your cams and crank are atm
