My OEM tires are coming up for replacement. My local dealer had an offer to buy 3 and get 1 free. Trying to get a sense from you guys what you found best. I split the use of my truck with daily use and towing a TT less than 6k.

My current OEMs made it to 55K with a bit more thread left, but we are planning a late fall camping trip. I would like to start with new tires on our month long trip.

What are you running and what works for you?

    Thanks

I went with Bridgestone Alenza AS Ultra because Costco had a good deal on them. Had then for about a year now, pretty happy with them.

I took a look at those...still on sale at Costco. Thanks.

Goodyear Steadfast, 70,000 mile tread life(we shall see) I wanted to go with the cool off road gnarly meats, but I'm too old and know my truck is a highway queen. I got snow tires for the winter, so I'm covered.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
I go with what the TRD PROs use. 2 sets of tires since owning my truck- the Michelin LTX A/T2 and now I've gone with the Falken Wildpeaks. I keep the stock size and no issues with either set but I did learn the hard way that Costco does not do alignments so I lost about 10,000 miles with the Michelins. Live and learn!

I've always liked Michelin. But, when my OEMs went out, I went with Nokian Outposts, I wanted a more aggressive tire.

Really like them, but I understand they're hard to get right now.

I have been considering these as well because of the Costco deals. Do they seem like an improvement over the original tires?

I've not been happy with my Michelin LTX AT2 performance in the snow, and am going with a set of Yokohama Geolandar G015's this time around for a well-rated all season tire with more on-road than off-road use intent. I also don't regularly tow more than 5k at a time generally, but having an LT E-rated tire will be nice on the off chance I borrow a 20-foot cargo trailer to haul extra motorcycles and people cross-country for roadtrips.

Edit - Discount Tire has their Labor Day sale going:

My G015 in snow ;) They were awful on gravel road as well.

    1.jpg

LTX had no problems with that. Here 2 feet deep wet snow. LTX struggled on a slope, but they did it. Air down and don't let them spin.

I'm on General Grabber A/TX now, they are awesome. Will go to Falken Wildpeaks, because can't find Grabbers in 34-ish size.

I had mine done at Costco and know they dont do an alignment but if it still driving in a straight line i seen no reason to get one. Was yours pulling?
I didn't have any issues with the OEM tires, I had to dump them while they still had okay tread because one got a really deep gash in it that couldn't be fixed so I decided to replace them before it got worse. We had a pretty mild winter last year and I haven't taken them off road at all but I havent had them spin or slide at all in the year I've had them and the road noise isn't any different than OEM. I don't have any complaints with them.

You put E1 rated tires on your 2WD car? Or are we really comparing apples and oranges here?

No, this is AWD car, with traction control far superior to what Toyota offers (Swedish Haldex >> Japanese A-TRAC). I haven't had any lateral traction loss problem with BFG KO2 on this car, at the same places at the same time of year. The car has been in places where my Tundra haven't been yet. G015 are no good, they are in fact worse than some of modern all season tires with a better designed thread pattern.

I'm not in love with all the negative reviews on the KO2 rain handling, whereas I'm seeing great reviews on the Firestone Destination XT for everything, in the LT275/65R18 E1's. Might shift my order to those.

I believe Tire Discounters or Discount Tire sells this tire with alignment included....I can't remember because I have seen so many advertisements to date. I remember some years back, I purchased Goodyear tires for my 2015 from Firestone. I looked at their site last night and they don't carry GY. Too bad, they did me right during that purchase.

They're somehow Nordic, don't remember the country. Saw them here, when my Michelins needed replaced, hunted them down...Discount Tires. I think I read here they were manufactured in Russia, and with boycotting them for their aggressions, Nokian just abandoned the factory, including the molds.

That explains why they're so hard to find, they're Finnished.
