I have the 2007 4.7L V8 SR5 Double Cab with 8 foot bed. One of my leaf springs is broken, and I need to figure out what the best option to replace them is. I don't off-road. What would y'all suggest?

Unless you are looking for some lift in the rear, why wouldn't you just replace both leafs with stock replacements?

Truck already has rake stock, so if you add a heavier duty or lifted rear leafs, when you will need to install some lift up front to match.

Otherwise, you will be running around like this:

OE Springs would be a decent option. General Spring offers factory replacements or a heavy duty option, both for a decent price. Shipping isn't horrendous, either, so for less than $600 you can get new leaf springs sent to your doorstep. You will need new u bolts (parts store or local suspension shop can bend some up for you) and may need to supply bushings (energy makes a good poly factory replacement set).

I've looked in to just about every other aftermarket option available that I could find on the inter webs; most aftermarket leaf springs are almost always for lifted applications, as @frichco228 mentioned and don't recommend adding a bunch of weight to them - assuming that's how you broke your factory spring...? You can have a custom leaf pack made up by the likes of Alcan, Atlas, Deaver, etc, but it will run you ~$1500 all said and done.

Last option is a set of factory take-offs sources via Craigslist, FB Marketplace, or a junkyard. I was able to get a set of factory takeoffs from a truck with 2000 miles on them for ~$150 IIRC; the owner lifted his truck and removed the springs.

That's hot! Just kidding, obviously it's hideous. I have never had to replace leaf springs before so I am new to this. I appreciate your patience with me. I may not be completely understanding OEM. I would be buying OEM from autoparts.toyota.com or what have you for OEM, which look more expensive than the third party sites? I suppose I would save a bit this way, but I don't think the shop's price on them was much worse. So it seems like it would be cheaper for me to buy the General Springs (are they just as good, or no?) and then have them installed. Am I way off base?
