Has anyone experienced their truck’s throttle response cutting out completely while driving?

My ‘11 cut out randomly the other day while climbing a grade on a long hill at about 65 mph. The idle stayed fine, but I couldn’t get a throttle response unless I floored it. Then it would just barely increase the throttle to the truck. After about 20-30 seconds, it came back to normal and hasn’t done it since. Any ideas?

Any check engine lights? Could be going in limp mode. You don't have a pedal commander installed or anything that is supposed to alter throttle response do you?

No check engine light. But yes, a pedal commander is installed (it wasn’t turned on at the time though, for what it’s worth).

Also, a Bullydog is hooked up, but a tune hasn’t been installed. It’s just there so I can monitor transmission temps.

I'm not a 2nd gen/2.5 gen guy but I have read about someone having a pedal commander and it cutout once or twice and he removed it. It's on this forum somewhere. It's a big part of the reason I haven't put one on my Lexus. I'm sure the faulty ones are few and far between but it just doesn't seem worth it.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up - I might just take it out then and see if that solves it.

Just seems like an easy starting point. Seems like it could be dangerous if you are say taking a turn at a yield light and the throttle just cuts out on you.
