Neither one is going to offer you much benefit. Your $ would be better spent on other truck upgrades.

If you want to upgrade your engine, throw on a supercharger

Besides supercharger, best bang for buck for every day driving is simple $300 Pedal Commander.

Thanks for all your input and suggestions, but right at the moment I can not go with the supercharger, bit pricey . Akmerle suggested a pedal commander, did some read up on it and thinking going with it. Does anyone have any experience with pedal commander ? How does it react to normal driving and when you need that little get up and go sometimes ?

Pedal commander obviously doesn’t add any power. Just throttle response. With my setting, it’s better from a stop but if I’m already moving there’s no difference.

Headers and exhaust best bang for buck (self install). That's the direction I'm headed. JBA cause I'm cheap. Some claim 49hp & 79lbs torque increase.

@dirtydeeds I know you're busy with your group buy, but you also know the numbers for this by heart. Would you enlighten us?

To @D's Toy , before you spend money on something to get a bit quicker off the line, hit the tow/haul button or search "beast mode" in the forum search bar. Also, what is the end goal for upgrading the engine? Are you towing and struggling? Do you just wanna put out big numbers on a dyno? Or are you looking for more smiles per gallon? If it's smiles you want, talke to Keith at Dirty Deeds about his BAMuffler system. It give a little better low end torque, and the sound is perfect.

I chose 3 inexpensive modifications to improve my engines output, and I am very happy with the results.

    1. DAP tune (OVT wasn't available at the time)
    2. A custom cat-back exhaust from @dirtydeeds exiting a single stock tail pipe.
    3. A dry drop-in air filter from AFE

Long tube headers would boost the power at higher RPMs, but the cost plus installation isn't in my budget.

Seriously, give the tow/haul button a try. It increases pedal response ( which is what a pedal commander does ) and it’s free.....

@Rex Kramer has the right idea.

Pedal commander is really cool. Changes how your truck responds to the gas pedal. Doesn't add HP but think adjustable Tow Haul

You can set it to eco mode but your truck will feel like a snail towing a fully loaded ocean barge on land.

I have read that about the PC before, but my '07 has the super responsive factory gas pedal you may have read about in other posts. Also, I'm not a big fan of the TH button unless I'm towing or hauling a heavy load.

I went with the Sprint Booster and the throttle control is night and day from the stock setting. City 6 and Im burning rubber lol. Great bang for the buck upgrade in my opinion. I also did an exhaust, Corsa db, and AFE Dry Drop-in Filter.

Yeah it's definitely taken some getting used to. I almost took out my mailbox the first night. Sometimes I'm at a red light, I take off and people think I'm trying to race them lol

When I was shopping for one, I regularly found the PC for as low as $240 with coupon codes. I decided to go with the Sprint Booster because of its form factor. The controller is the size of a quarter. The PC is a decent size box that needs to be mounted somewhere.

First time I hit the gas after installing it, I was all smiles. Other than having a custom tune done for the truck, this is the next best thing.

Pedal commander models? There’s only one model for your specific vehicle. Or ask @Wallygator how he can make his foot bypass the electronic throttle delay
