I'll be picking up a new MGM '21 Sport Premium this Monday and hoping for a little feedback regarding Toyota's ECP Platinum Plan.
Typically I don't go for the extra warranty as the factory warranty usually takes care of any initial issues and being a solid truck after years of refining hopefully wouldn't need extra.
My concern is with the newer safety sense features and if they have had any inherent issues that could become a pricey fix down the road.

    For example,
I'd be into a 6yr, 100,000 KM Platinum Plan for around $2300.00 CDN.
For this a person receives: For vehicles with 12 months/16,000 km oil change intervals – 3 Years Maintenance Service Program*covered which works out to 6 services worth approx $1200.00

$2000 buys a fair amount of service and a few extra upgrades as well.
Any stories of electronic gremlins in the later Tundra's?

    Is that in Canada?

OP is in Canada, and to be frank the ECP plan is bit underwhelming, I'm sticking with 8k interval since lots of towing, and my service 2 is at most $130-140, our powertrain is 60months/100k , so I didn't really see a point, the safety sense feature has been on the market in one form or another for almost 20yrs now, and even when they DO fail, they will not impact the ability to drive.

My extended warranty is the name of the truck. If I were buying a domestic, I would probably look at an extended warranty, but there is a reason that the dealerships push them so hard and it's because they make a huge amount of money off of them. I have been driving for 24 years now and have always driven Toyotas. In 24 years, I have not spent anywhere near the cost of an extended warranty on repairs.

Hey no problem. It's interesting to see the cost difference across the border. We seem to take a bigger hit on this side as they pretty much have you in a corner wrt to price and options in many cases.

One Toyota dealership in B.C. wouldn't even sell me a Truck unless I agreed to their Diamond Kote undercoating "it's our dealership policy". I basically told them to get f'd and walked away.

There’s a reason Toyota’s extended warranties are cheap. They sell them to make a profit. I bought the 7/75k because it was cheaper than road side service here in the US. I doubt I’ll need it but added into the note it was worth it at today’s low interest rates. Most issues are sorted out in the 3/36k factory warranty period.

FWIW, also Canadian and went for the 84mo. /160km platinum ECP and managed to negotiate about $1k off. I liked the peace of mind of knowing I (nearly) have bumper to bumper coverage for the better part of a decade.

Thanks for the info. Most dealers are telling me the platinum is price fixed so it sounds like they are feeding me a little bs.
We'll see on Monday if they'll drop the price a little.
