Thoughts on this truck

MSRP $48,500, I'm at $37,995. I'm going to the dealership on the 31st .
Thoughts about price? I'm gonna offer $36,500. What do you think?

 

Looks nice. End of month, they need their sales numbers. Don't be bashful. Argue that in 2 months it will be a year old.

My Tundra’s MSRP was $1000 less and I paid $1000 more than your dealer’s current offer. My price included $3000 rebate and I don’t know how much rebate you are getting but that deal looks pretty pretty good to me. I bought mine in the middle of Last month btw.

 

They still have the $3000 factory rebate.

 

Wish I would have held out for that kind of deal...wow...and I like the color!

 

Not a fan of chrome but I agree on the color.

 

I would go radio silent. Let THEM hit you back. Bluff them if you can, tell them you're working another deal somewhere else.

Then show up on the 31st at store opening, and tell them "hey, one last chance, give me your bottom number or I'm going back to the other guy and that you're ready to deal TODAY". Tell them you're working a deal on a truck in another state, and you're loyal to the dealer who will get you the best deal (I went over many states and into a different Toyota region for a better deal). They may ask "well what will it take", tell them $36,500 and you'll do the paperwork right now.

Looks like the truck is 6 months old as well so you can use that to your advantage.

 

I actually got 2 more deals waiting. Both for Sport in magnetic grey though. One of them being $600 cheaper. MSRP in $3k less though.

Don't let them know you really want their truck. Go silent, show up the last day, tell them TODAY I WILL BE THE OWNER OF A NEW TUNDRA. Whether it's from your dealership or the other one, that's up to you! They'll ask what your number is and tell them, and tell them to bring the paperwork too. If they say no, walk out.

 

And if you offer 36,500 and they counter 37,500, what will you do? Get your desired number and your max number in your head. Stick to them. Desired number might be 36,500 but cap it at 37k?

So I went to the dealership, test drove it, went inside and sat to negotiate. Sales lady (which I've been emailing back and forth for 7 days) checks computer, prints truck info and comes back and says:
"I got bad news, I'm still new here and made a huge mistake by quoting you and 2wd truck, so the price on the truck you just drove will be slightly higher"

Long story short: Her manager let me walk out even after showing him two different quotes... last day of the month, they fucked up and they wouldn't own their own fucking mistake.

I got some work to do in Google, Yelp, Instagram and every single of my 76 co workers.

 

Must have met their monthly sales goal...I thought you had a great deal at $38k for an msrp of $48k. Even that was a much bigger discount than I got on my Platinum in August.

 

In Jersey we called that a “bait and switch”. Sorry to hear brother. Not sure where you are located, but reach out to Coughlin Toyota in Ohio. Very easy transaction for me.

 

Fucked up part is that I could've gone with the second option and bring home my new truck. Now I'm facked cause who knows what the incentives will be tomorrow.

Not sure how it works for an email quote, but it’s against the law for them to advertise a price and then not honor it.
Since it wasn’t technically advertised on their website at the price I don’t know if it still applies.

Got it for $38437 + TTL. With GPS, EPP & EVP. TRD rear sway bar, bedliner, TRD air filter, tailgate insert. Couldn't be any happier.



So, long story short again. This is the actual truck from Whittier (the one they quoted me wrong, read previous posts) , but MossBros dealership sold it to me because there was a mistake on MossBros' website (false advertising). So they brought the truck from Whittier and sold it to me for basically $10,000 below MSRP

 

At least they owned up to their false advertising
