About where does your oil pressure gauge hover during driving?
I ask because my Land Cruiser 200 has been running 5w-30 for a year and the gauge hovers around the 1/4 mark and floats up to half point every now and then.
I just put 5w-30 in my new-to-me 2020 Tundra with 23k and the gauge hovers around half point and floats a bit above under acceleration.

Same oil, same fill quantity, same engine(?!)…I’m wondering what’s the difference and more importantly, what is the oil pressure danger zone in our trucks?

    Thanks all!!

For what it is worth, I use Mobil 1 Truck & SUV Full Synthetic Motor Oil 5W-20. It has gotten rid of the Tundra Tick/diesel sound at idle. My oil pressure gauge has went from just below 1/2 to between 1/2 and 3/4 mark.

Mine runs 5w-30 and does a similar dance, just under 48% at idle in gear, then advances upwards to around 64% or so under acceleration.

    Too many mods to come
Oil pressure will rise under acceleration. All normal. If it doesn’t then that’s a problem lol

Haha, come on man, give me more credit than that. Rising under acceleration wasn’t my concern. It was the overall range (I thought it was high) on the gauge.

Same pressure and observation of gauge using 5w-30. You're good to go.

Amazon's vehicle fit stuff is shaky at best. Any time I've bought anything on there for any vehicle it hasn't been accurate.

5w30 doesn't change the oil pressure gauge when compared to 0w20 in my experience anyway. Now when you put 15w40 in then it will actually read a little higher.

When cold the oil pressure is definitely higher with 5w-30 than 0w-20 in my guage.

i like 5w-20 the best. Truck sounds and feels the best

If you do run the abiogenic oil change it at 3k. Synthetic stands up to the harsh conditions especially if your Supercharged or running a turbo.

I saw no gauge difference between 0w-20 and 5w-30. When warm, the gauge is at the middle at idle and goes up to about 3/4 when accelerating depending on load.
