I would not have owned a Ford before and definitely wouldn't now.

Eh... most will stick with what they always drove. Until you get screwed and then look at other manufacturers.

Info like this is bound to help other Brands and hurt Ford. How many recalls has Ford issued with regards to safety? Vs. Other manufactures.

Dunno... there was a service bulletin out for the car my wife was driving about excessive oil consumption. Not a recall. I changed the oil and it sucked the pan dry in two weeks. Chevy wouldn't stand behind it. Had to replace the engine and sold the car. Pissed me off, and after being a lifetime GM owner... you see where I am now!

This might cause some to look at different vehicles...I switched to Toyota from having had Chevys and Ford trucks in the past. I didn’t like the new Chevy/GMC styling. My last truck was an F150 that I actually liked but Ford didn’t stand behind its warranty and the Dealer was awful to deal with.

My wife went to Toyota because of a Hyundai.
We took a brand new car in and they charged her for a timing belt change and said it was her fault.
Still didn't fix the problem. I was in japan at the time on business and when I got home I told them I would park it on the side of the road with all the details on it about what they did.
They gave us a full refund.
While I was in there melting down there is a Toyota dealer right next store.
She liked the Rav 4 and was looking at a used one.
I said for the price of a used compared to new we might as well buy new.

Almost eight years later and her car is still going with zero issues at all. (Knock on wood)

One bad fuck up can cost a company a lot.
Some will leave and others will be Ford fan club as we are with Toyota.

After two Toyotas which were great, I decided to give Subaru a try and bought one of their cars. Thought I was saving money. Wrong. I followed all the service to a T, but kept having issues. Water pump, then timing belt stretched and caused knocking, had to fix, then timing belt, then timing belt, then timing belt.... every 8 to 11 thousand miles. Not warranty, not 'oil bathed engine part'. Then an electrical issue in the dash caused the car to 'overheat' (gauge issue), and the dash board would heat up. Took it in and they insisted it was the water pump again. I kept saying "listen, I bang on the dash right here, and the gauge goes back to normal for a while" but they didn't listen. I was done. Stick. a. fork. in. me. done. I drove it to a Toyota dealer, looked around and fell in love with the '94 v6 4x4 truck (The Subaru was an '88 DL Station Wagon). I pointed to the Subaru, said "this is yours, please work with me on this" and drove out with the truck. Never looked back, and will always try to talk anyone who will listen, into not buying a Subaru, I don't care how many baby seals they save. I did entertain the idea of buying a Ford this time around, because they did not suck up tax payer money in 2008/2009. They were the only one of the 'big 3' that didn't. So I looked and looked for 4 years off and on but I could not do it. The whole time driving a 2002 Tundra that just kept going and going. It was 15 years before something actually broke on it. I could not find a reason to switch. Fan girl? No. Fool me twice... no.
