Thanks for posting that.. Its always nice to see some good news even if it is something we all already new.. Wish I could see the same chart with the Tacoma at the top of its class as well.

Unless you have the time and money to have your truck in for repairs on a regular basis, or need more payload or towing capacity, there is absolutely ZERO reason to buy anything but a Tundra. Time is much more valuable to me than money, so it is a no-brainer.

I'm surprised that the Titan is as high as it is. I haven't really heard much about them lately.

I felt like the start of one of those click bait ads when I looked this up,

We know tacomas are known for reliability but you'll never guess who has the #1 spot!

I was recently looking at the Tacoma for my brother in law. I was surprised at how many issues the 2016+ tacomas had.. However, the 2015s seamed more reliable. I wanted him to get a tundra like mine, but its too much money..

I was looking into a tacoma before getting my tundra and the market is just crazy, I found all these issues with the newer tacomas and yet they held a higher value then the tundras of the same year.

I've got a 2020 Tacoma assigned to me for work. If it was my first experience with a Toyota, it would be my last. The transmission is the biggest piece of crap ever. The transmission is incessantly searching for the right gear to be in. I am sure the build quality is still very good but the motor/trans combo is an absolute dog in this current model.

We took one out before the Tundra as we weren't sure we wanted a Full sized truck. With Toyota incentives, it was more expensive than the Tundra.

Nice little truck, but too small for our needs. Would be great if we didn't have kids and a dog.

Yeah our plan was to keep my wife's little suv and get a nice used Tacoma, I was thinking it would be a lot cheaper but since prices were about the same we decided to make the Tundra the family vehicle and my wife got a challenger. I think we both made out pretty well.

Tundras rule the 2 Rs: Reliability and Resale.

They won’t win fanciest interior or best technology categories, but that don’t mean squat when the truck is in the service shop all the time...

honestly i assumed if i couldnt afford a tacoma, i DEFINITELY couldnt afford a tundra. so i never really even looked for one. then one day i saw one for sale nearby... was surprised at the price so i looked them up in the classifieds. 1 month later i drove one home. ive been thrilled ever since.

i knew the f series wasnt reliable, but holy shit, i didnt realize it was that bad. thats what i'm coming from. a 2006 with major trans and engine issues. fuck the 5.4 3v.

I’ve been talking about Dashboard Light for a really long time. It used to be called the Long Term Quality Index. Any time one of my friends is car shopping, I send them to that site. Nice to see others bring it up!

I wonder if the deal with the Chevy SSR has more to do with it being a limited run, somewhat collectible, and people hanging onto it for a very long time and not putting very many miles on it.

I don’t think its numbers are due to it being a super reliable workhorse of a truck.

Wife was looking at a Tacoma as well - she was asking me "Won't this suffice?"

I told her to first take one for a test drive. When she got back she said "I do NOT like this transmission..."

I then told her to look @ the price. She said "Oh hell no, Tundra it is." LOL

This thread needs to be the first response to ANYONE coming to this site to compare their 1/2T truck to the Tundra. I repeat - it's NO CONTEST!

I have a 2017 Ram I drive for work. At 10k, almost exactly, it was in the shop for 2 weeks for 4 failed sensors. It just hit 50k and not a week later, its back in the shop for 4 more different failed sensors.... So I'm having fun driving my Tundra to work... with my gas card to cover the occasional Tow/Haul impulses.... Oh, and the bed rail "guard" plastic just cracked on the Ram in the exact same spot on both sides...

What does industry average mean? Somehow random obscure vehicles are so horrible it makes the average half of everything else? These graphs don't seem to explain very much, or make much sense in the screenshots shown. I admit I didn't click the link since I'm lazy though :D
