Thinking A/C Blower Motor is Bad

A/C Blower will not turn on, no climate control.

Remembering a few folks that have replaced theirs. For those folks; when it failed did it fail completely? Thinking I may need to check a fuse. Is there anything else to check before buying a new fan/motor?

Checked voltage at harness, it is good. Variable 0-12 Vdc, assuming for fan speed control.
Installed new blower/motor, working as needed again $135.00, dealer matched internet price, originally $195.00

 

That was nice of your dealer. I asked my dealer if they would price match and they said no.

 

Caveat to that: Online price quotes net better pricing at local dealership, but you usually have to plan ahead. I requested a quote yesterday but had not gotten a response so the parts guy helped me out. They really had no way of knowing, you could always try saying you had requested a quote......

Mine is making a ticking noise, variable with speed, and I think it’s on its way out(195k on truck).
At $135-195, I think I’ll hold off until she totally dies. Thank you for the tip on price matching!

 

Ours went out suddenly, all at once, no tells. 133.5 miles.

If not already, check your cabin filter to make sure its not the cause of your noise. If filter is suspect, pull blower to inspect for debris.

I did the cabin filter within the first week, vacuumed all the ducting I could at that time. No leaves or debris in the squirrel cage. Thank you for the tip though, much appreciated!
