Our summer trip started off this week! We are very excited about the trips we will be sharing (as much as we can), and sharing the adventure along the way. For privacy of my family, I don't usually post family pics, but my wife is posting a fun version of all we are doing (this is the more serious posting).

On hers there is no family pics, but there is Nutty. Nutty has volunteered to stand in for us as a family, and we are excited for all that we are going to be doing. We hope you come along with us! I will capture our trip and I am sure Nutty will show up in some of them.

BTW, here is Nutty. He is busy fishing so we didn't want to interrupt him for an interview.

First trip: Rivers Edge Campground (Virginia).

We started our first initial trip here in VA. This is our test run to see how the systems are and to fix any issues before we take our big journey.

This was the first trip with the Ram, and our year with our camper (our first one was totaled).

The trip here was a little over an hour and I hit speeds between 63-75 mph. It was not too bad for gas mileage but going through some of the small towns hurt me.

It was late in the evening so I was only able to snap a few pics, but I will post it here so you can see the area.

This campground is our absolute favorite and it is private owned so you can know the owners personally.

I will share a few pics from the area: Hope you enjoy!

The campground is located between two different rivers and their forks. It is also located in a more mountainous region as well:

We got into our spot here at the campground and got set up.

    We are in site 4.

Not only is the location absolutely scenic, but the wildlife abounds, including a family of Bald Eagles! @Ghost Rider and @BuzzardsGottaEat , I appreciate your advice on getting the zoom lense, for that produced these shots!

The beauty in this campground is found, not in just its location and wildlife, but also its simplicity. The owners purposely made the campground to be reminicint of camping in the 90's. So it is not just thrown here to try and generate as much money as possible, but to offer several things and feeling you would have found in the 90's. Even the pricing is really good ($55/night no matter what slot you get).

With the flooding in the area, we could not get to the fishing ponds, or the good, old fashion, swimming hole! But they are awesome!

They also have hiking trails, and a great little koi pond. Here are some pics of the area:

Ok. That is all the pics I have without family in it. I look forward to sharing any information with you all, and to also answer any questions. Please feel free to ask, and I hope you enjoy "traveling" with us this year!

Just a heads up on where we are going:

    1. We will be hitting several states this summer!
    2. I will post and document as I can, but on many of these places I will be there for only one night so I don't think I will be able to do everything as detailed as this one.
    3. We will also be going out of the country to CA and specifically Prince Edward Island.

    Summer, here we come!

I am back! It has been an amazing first round trip for us this summer. We will have another trip, but this was our biggest one for the summer!

We visited 23 states and saw a lot in just a short period of time.

In honor of this trip, and to celebrate having completed a dream of mine for 8 years, I am wanting to have a fun game and yes, THERE IS A PRIZE!!!

Here are the categories for the prizes!

    1. How many miles we drove.

    2. What was the highest elevation WE hit.

We started on the east coast, down to Arkansas, West to Arizona, then up to Montana. Then we worked our way back home from there to the east coast. .

    For a prize:

On this trip, We hit my absolute bucket list location: Glacier National Park.

In honor of this occasion, I have 2 Glacier National Park patches. I will give one to each of the winners and the first place winner can chose which patch they want..

    Here are the rules:

    1. It is only for the US. Sorry for those who are outside, but I don't know about shipping that far. Again, I apologize and I hope you understand this is not a slight against you all.

    2. I will pick the winner based on who is the closest to the correct answers to the above two questions and will send you the patch that you chose.

    3. To help make this fun, we are looking for the highest elevation on our route that we hit. Not the highest elevation that is on the route! Yes, there is a difference.

    4. Time stamps on the posting decides who is first and second. To help spread these two patches to two people, please guess on one or the other category. This way I can send two patches to two people. This does not mean you cannot play on the other category, but I will only take the answer for one of the two.

    5. Winners will be picked, AFTER 7 days[IMG] So that will be Wednesday the 9th. I will then ship it out on Thursday or Friday.

    6. When the winner is picked, I will PM you with request for information for your addresses and then post the winners, and the actual answers.

If any of these rules do not make sense, please ask. I may not have clarified this well, and this is also my first time running something like this.

I will also be posting a lot of pictures, and invite everyone from the photo of the day as well as anyone else who is wanting to follow along with the trip. I appreciate input in the photos as that will help me to improve. I know patches may not be the biggest prize, but it is what I could do, and I wanted to just help contribute to this wonderful board that has helped me out in a lot of ways.

So, Let's begin the journey! It will take a little while to post up pics (not sure why it takes a while to upload, but it does for me), and I will state where we were and share the pictures. I will try to post a couple every day, but I am going to be trying to catch up from the trip with work as well.

    Here are the patches:
