I don't know what dashcam you have but did you try seeing if maybe there was a firmware update or a compatibility issue with your SD card?

I tried updating, and tried swapping SD cards to no avail. I think it’s just a crappy dash cam, and the heat was getting to it. I noticed when I went to the Offroad park that after the heat of day came in, all my footage was completely blank. So I’ve given up on the Cobra and cashed in all my Amazon and Upside rewards for this little guy:

Seven gallons of sweat later, the new dash cam is installed.

The blackvue tucks up perfectly under the mirror and it’s basically invisible from inside the cabin.

My janky ass temporary rear mounting solution. It’s a decent angle and I can still roll my back window down, so it might end up being the permanent solution :anonymous:

Check the build link in my signature.
What about routing the rear cam back to the rack?

I saw it a couple of times this weekend, but here's an example I saw of excellent driver skills... Have you ever seen someone backing out of a parking spot and they literally take like 2 full minutes to do so? Back out at .5mph followed by steering wheel inputs at a painfully slow speed? You mean to tell me that person is capable of navigating a steel missile at 70mph when every single input is magnified?

    Terrifying.

It’s not waterproof, they make one that is but it’s insanely priced :bananadead:

Wow, look at you going from the minor leagues to the bench and now in the big leagues so quickly.

Looks nice. You're gonna have to let me know how this one performs as I currently run a Viofo and I'm so-so about it but it seemed to be the best bang for the buck in the current offerings.

Blackvue has been on my radar forever, I’ve just had a hard time justifying the expense. My girlfriend caught me staring at my Amazon cart the other day and said “since I’ve known you, you’ve had two dash cams and they’ve both sucked. Just spend the money “.

It also didn’t hurt that this one is a refurbished unit that was only $188.

    WTF, that's a heck of a deal!

I considered them too, along with the Thinkware system. Then I found out that one of the best budget cameras offering 4K dual cams with at least a decent rep and features was the Viofo for cheaper. But, yeah, I would've jumped on that price too since I paid somewhere around 150-170 for my current setup. I might have to rethink some things.

This is the bare bones blackvue cam, so no 4K. That doesn’t bother me though for now. If I fall in love with this thing, I’ll upgrade to the 4K one and move this into the other half’s rav4.

Last I looked there were still like 12 left at the $188 price on Amazon. Look under the “other sellers on Amazon” spot below the add to cart button.
