Any F1 fans in the Tundra community?

I'm an avid follower and haven't seen any banter on the site yet.

Let's see who can compete with Redbull in Miami this weekend!

Casual fan here, been trying to catch more races though. Is Verstappen even human? o_O

I think @Green Thunder and @20GR8 Super are big fans

Yep, I am a fan. I am a Netflix baby however, so only been watching for 4 or so seasons.

Love it however and bought the F1 service for the year.

No one can touch Verstappen, but Ferrari took #2 and #3 in Qualifying, so maybe there's hope tomorrow for a real race at some point.

Netflix got me and the wife into it also. Hopefully Sainz gets on the podium again.

Yes! I am rooting for Sainz this year in a big way. Hope he sticks it to Ferrari

Great race! The Piastri/Sainz contact didn’t help my F1 fantasy.

Fortunate safety car gave Lando a “free” pit stop and he was able to extend the lead. It’s always good seeing someone other than max win. I was a bottas fan when he was with merc (and always playing second fiddle to Hamilton who I can’t stand). But since Alfa and now sauber, he is flat out awful. I will be very surprised if he sticks next year. There could be a lot of turnover next year with Danny Ric and others not retaining seats. I am a huge Lando fan and leclerc as they just seem pretty down to earth. Many of the races are parades from the start - as long as the leaders make it through the start and first lap it’s pretty much a wrap unless there’s a crash. This race had excitement and overtaking. It was fun

That was the best race in a long time. Not a Lando fan, but anyone that can best Max is good in my book. Especially with the gap he created after the restart. Everyone had the same tires, so what we saw there was a true underdog stomping!

Pretty much seen every race since the Schumacher days. Was pretty difficult to even find F1 on tv before that. It’s crazy we didn’t even have a Grand Prix in the US a few years ago. Now we have 3.

I usually root for the second best driver. I just want to see competitive races. When Vettel was dominating I became a Hamilton fan. When Ham started dominating I became a Max fan. Now I just want anyone to beat Max lol.

But I would like to see Ham get his 8th title to break the tie with Schumacher. If Adrian Newey (Red Bulls car designer) goes to Ferrari next year along with Hamilton, he’s going to get his shot.

    Tomorrow, let’s go McLaren!

TWO more laps and the result would have been different.

That was about as boring a race as they get…until the final 10 laps. Glad to see McLaren might have actually developed a package to put constant pressure on Red Bull.

Now if Ferrari would just figure something out…

It was good. Don’t like nascar (boring circle track) but Chicago today is a street race, left and right turns. A 3k lb brick in corners might be fun.

Looks like rush hour in DC.
This is a string of commercials with some cars driving in traffic. I’m confused with nascar. Why do they close the pits? What’s the deal with stages?

Stages help make the racing more exciting during the race. They are normally spaced so a pit is required, so it throws a wrench if teams are only planning for the end of the race. It also makes teams decide if they want points now for a stage or pit early (forgo the points) to be ready for the end.

I forget why the pits close… I think two laps before the end of a stage. Prob to force teams to make a decision.

Spoiler of you haven’t watched Qualifying yet…Checo chit the bed again

I love the dude, but think he’s gonna be out during the summer break. Anyone else? RB is just too brutal when it comes to underperforming. No way they will risk the Constructors championship

Well the undercut was the better move for the team. It was protecting their 1,2. But that gave Lando the advantage over Piastri. What Lando should’ve done was give Piastri the position back right away. Then showed he had more pace. There were still over 20 laps left in the race. With Lando in the higher driver’s standings, it would’ve been completely acceptable for him to pass him after giving Piastri the position back.

Yeah, right thing to do giving it back to piastri but Lando was faster. I’m sure piastri didn’t want the win like that, and Lando didn’t want to give it to him like that. Team politics.
    Max was interesting today.
