Well it was a good vehicle from day one! My wife had always wanted a Honda Pilot when they were 1st introduced, and when the body style changed to the current generation she knew she had to have the '13 she found in Burleson. Fast forward through many adventures and yesterday on her way home from her parents house a UPS driver passed her in a 45 mph and then proceeded to brake check her coming around the next corner after the 60 mph in crease. Well she avoid a collision with his ignorant ass and severed off road and took out a power pole and totaled her Black Beauty. Thank God she walked away with barely a scratch but she will be sore today for sure!!20200806_114021.jpg 20200806_114053.jpg20200807_073356.jpg
Hadn't planned on being in the market for a car for a long while. I know what i would replace it with but I will let her decide what she wants. What would our Tundra Family suggest and what yall get?

Sounds like you need to be getting UPS to pay for your next vehicle.

Glad to hear she’s okay! That could’ve gone way worse. It’s a shame people act like that on the road

The pilot is a great vehicle. We had 3 Odysseys and they were awesome also.
Let her get what she wants, as long as it stays in the Honda or Toyota family. The Highlander is a nice vehicle also.

Sorry to hear that and glad your wife is ok. I was told in that scenario it would be better to stay in your lane and hit the other driver if they're at fault. If you swerve out of your lane and hit someone else, now you're at fault. But it's easy to say that; who knows how they'll actually respond in an emergency.

Anyway, what are your needs and wants in a new vehicle?

Thats just awful and I'm sure the ups driver would say he didn't even know she was there. I was never a big wrangler fan but my wife just got a 2018 wrangler traded her camry for it and she loves driving it.

Good luck that driver prob didn’t stop and good luck proving anything. Unless there is a video it’s he said she said and well we all know how that goes. For the OP what about a new Honda?

A friend of mine was the same way. She wanted a Wrangler so they traded in her Explorer and got one. She had it about 8 months before she got tired of it and bought a new Explorer.

Glad she's ok. I bet she'll want another Pilot. My vote is for a Highlander. We've had our 15 since brand new and put over 110k on it. It's very spacious and great for the kids!

Glad she's OK! I would have to say the only way to "Kill" a Toyota or Honda is to get in a bad accident. If it were me and mine, it would be another Pilot, maybe a couple years newer like a 2016. However, the Highlanders are really nice.

Which ever one you get, I would get a dash cam for both vehicles. Speaking from experience, my last two accidents having the dash cam proved I didn't do anything wrong.

Glad she’s ok. I don’t imagine you’re going to have much luck getting anything out of UPS. Did the guy even stop?
Those Pilots are pretty cool. Like others have said, you really can’t go wrong with Honda or Toyota. We love our Sequoia but that’s a lot more money than a Pilot. I think I’d go with a Pilot over a Highlander, but a 4Runner would be a good option.

Best wishes to your wife I hope she is doing good. I would think after walking away from a accident like that she probably has gained a lot of trust in the pilot so a new one might be the way to go. One of my crew at work just got a 2020 it is very nice.

Thank you all so far!! No clue what she'll want next. I know neither of us like the current Pilot so that's out. I want her to get what she wants and I will let her take her time. She can drive the Tundra for now as i have a work provided van. The UPS driver knew she was there and did not stop. No witnesses or dash cam. Won't be able to prove anything. :( Thats life and why we have insurance. All will be ok as materiel things can always be replaced!!

    Glad the wife is OK!

Some really great SUV’s out right now.

My wife loves her Pro 4Runner!

The RAV4 Hybrid is supposed to be incredible.

My buddy just got a new 2020 Explorer ST. Very nice and smooth driving.

I loved my 14 Jeep SRT, the Grand Cherokees are great rigs. I didn’t have a single issue with mine. Supposed to be a new redesigned GC next year.

The new Kia Telluride / Hyundai Pallisades get strong reviews.

I’ve got a 2012 Lexus RX350 I’ll sell you. Runs like a top, AWD, clean with 67k miles! We’re switching up cars - wife got a Sienna for hauling dogs and grandkids and then a sporty convertible. She loved the Lexus rides smooth as butter but needed something less “nice” for kids and dogs.

Hilanders are real nice too if you want to keep it in the Toyota family.

While I agree with everything you said....I'd report his/her @$$ anyways. That just absolutely steams me.

With that said....you're right, thank God your wife is alright. Vehicles come and go but your wife's safety and well-being is FAR more important than that.

I would rather have my balls hammered flat than give FCA my money. Wouldn't mind finding a good, old 3.0 equipped one or an LS swapped.
