    Hello everyone:)
I have a 2000 tundra short cab. My question is I am getting a tapping sound. I have heard you need to take it to a machinist and the will grind or smooth something out. Is this correct? What is it that needs smoothing our? What do I say when I call? Anyone know the estimate or ball park figure to give me an idea? Thx I will await any and all responses:)

Not enough information. It could be anything from a small exhaust leak to your engine about ready to blow up.
